Hours M-F 11am-3pm There are typically four
or five consultants (MA grad students) staffing the Writing
Center per hour. Appointments last 25-minutes and begin on
the hour and half-hour. The Writing Center is not a paper
editing service. Instead, we offer a site for students to
learn more about writing. Please encourage students at all
skill levels to visit the Writing Center at any stage in the
writing process. We can help all students to understand the
assignment, coach them in the generative stages of writing,
provide feedback to their drafts, and help them in the final
stages of their writing. We will not proofread student work,
but we will point out patterns of sentence-level error and
teach them to edit their own work. The center can also send
staff to a teacher's classroom and explain the services as
well as hand out brochures.
